This website, Curiously Specific (curiouslyspecific.nz), is run by Alex Mark Scott, New Zealand. We collect only the personal information we need to take and deliver your order and to run the shop, and we handle it under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
- Your order details: name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number and what you bought.
- Your account, if you create one: the details above plus your order history.
- Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
- Technical information such as your IP address and browser type, which our web server records for security and to keep the site working.
- How you use the site, through the analytics and advertising tools described below.
Who we share it with
- Our printing partner: your tee is printed and posted by Printify and its print partner in Australia, so we pass them your name, delivery address, email and phone number so they can make and deliver your parcel.
- Payment providers (Stripe) process your payment. We never see or store your full card number.
- Couriers receive your delivery details to deliver and track your parcel.
- Google and Microsoft, for the analytics, advertising and review tools described below.
- Our accountant and accounting software keep sales records as the law requires.
We do not sell your information.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies to keep your cart and your login working. We also use:
- Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and which tees are added to the cart. It uses cookies and collects information about your device and visit.
- Microsoft Clarity to see how people use our pages, through heatmaps and recordings of clicks, scrolling and page views. Clarity hides what you type into form fields.
- Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our ads lead to sales. When you place an order, we send Google a scrambled (hashed) version of details such as your email address and phone number, using a feature called enhanced conversions. Google uses this only to match the sale to an ad, in line with Google’s policies.
- Google Customer Reviews. After you place an order, Google may invite you to take a short survey about your purchase. If you choose to take part, Google receives your email address, order number, country and estimated delivery date to send it. Taking part is optional. We also show a Google Customer Reviews badge on the site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy and Microsoft’s at privacy.microsoft.com.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for seven years, as New Zealand tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
